Project: Office Space

Unfortunately I don't have a "before" photo but imagine your stereotypical, bland spare bedroom/storage space—clutter everywhere! Both Meg and I were frustrated that we were paying for a 2 bedroom apartment but didn't really use the second room except for when family visited. Now it serves as both our guest room and our "office" area. Not a bad transformation for under $75.00! (click images to view larger)

REBRAND: Kelley Jordan Photography

KelleyJordan Photography is new to Indianapolis but Kelley herself is a very familiar face. Kelley, Meg and I studied art + design at the same University. As long as I've known Kelley she has done awesome work in photography. One of my favorite projects she's done is The Polaroid Project. I was lucky enough to participate back in 2007 and I was excited to have found the post still online! (click here to check it out).

Kelley specializes in wedding and portrait photography. She recently has been using her talent to document art objects & portfolio pieces. So whether you need some images for your Etsy page or your online portfolio, Kelley is exactly who you need.

Inspiration Found.

Today I visited the Boat Show at the Indiana State Fairground with Megan and my in-laws because my father-in-law is looking at replacing their current speedboat with a larger one. He informed me that the worst place to buy a boat is at a boat show, so we spent the day critically observing potential boats. There were some incredible boats–some completely tricked out while others were very simple. I've never had the urge to save up to buy a boat...(since my in-laws have a fantastic boat and every water-sport toy you could have)...but today, that changed.

Off along the side were some antique boats. The most beautifully crafted boats I've ever seen. They were simple boats. They were 2 passenger, wooden boats with a classic interior. Such an aesthetically pleasing boat. My in-laws plan to move south and build a lake house, so if they'll build a second dock, I may infact contribute a beautiful Chris-Craft Cobra. Time to start saving...

Don't you mean "Speed Bump Ahead" Correction!

After being informed that there was a difference between a 'speed bump' and a 'speed hump', I did some more research and found out that speed humps are often implemented as a 'municipal solution' where as speed bumps are used in a more residential/private area. (www.trafficlogix.com) Also, the dimension for a speed bump is around a foot wide where as the 'hump' can range from a few feet to as many as 14 feet. Very interesting. Thanks to Josh Taylor, www.makeseriously.com, for pointing this out -- now instead of cracking up in the morning, I try to guess how wide the hump is. (ha).

Every morning when I arrive at work I pass the sign that is pictured below. I never paid too much attention to the wording until the other day I realized it read "hump" instead of "bump". I'm pretty sure in Ohio they're called speed bumps so I've always read the sign as just that. Now every morning as I approach the parking lot I read the sign as more of a command: "Speed hump ahead". Cracks me up every time. Oh Indianapolis.
