Then and Now: Christmas in the 20's

Megan and I spent our Thanksgiving in Ohio with my side of the family. While we were visiting, my Grandma's husband Darl shared with us some rare family photos of christmas in the mid 1920's. It was pretty cool to look through a family album of family vacations, holidays and home-building prior to the great depression. Other photos included trips to Washington, DC, Niagara Falls, Florida (which took 24 tires to make the roundtrip), and their cottage on Lake Erie.

The photography: (click to enlarge)
1. His parent's car (the car they took to Florida)
2. The house his father built for the weathliest family in Mansfield, Ohio. (The house is still standing and remains in the family)
3. Darl's parents Christmas tree.

Project: Office Space

Unfortunately I don't have a "before" photo but imagine your stereotypical, bland spare bedroom/storage space—clutter everywhere! Both Meg and I were frustrated that we were paying for a 2 bedroom apartment but didn't really use the second room except for when family visited. Now it serves as both our guest room and our "office" area. Not a bad transformation for under $75.00! (click images to view larger)
